Lab Redington-Fairview General Hospital's Laboratory is a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) accredited, full-service laboratory in a small community hospital located in Skowhegan, Maine. The laboratory is staffed by highly qualified professionals 24-hours a day to provide service for inpatients, outpatients, and the emergency department.

The laboratory strives to provide high quality laboratory testing in a timely manner. Clinical pathology services provided onsite include:

immunohematology
coagulation
hematology
microbiology
urinalysis
serology
chemistry

Testing not performed onsite is referred to CLIA accredited reference laboratories. Our primary reference laboratories include:

Quest Diagnostics (Marlborough, MA)
Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory (Augusta, ME)
Mayo Clinic Laboratories (Rochester, MN)
Nordx (Scarborough, ME)

Lab Pathology services and Laboratory Directorship are provided by Dahl Chase Pathology, Assoc. (Bangor, ME)

The clinical laboratory and outpatient department completed renovations in August 2014, utilizing a LEAN approach in its design. As a result, core laboratory departments are now located adjacent to each other in an open concept model, and there is improved privacy for patients in the outpatient department.
