Associate Degree in Medical Assistant preferred and Medical Assistant Certification required. Must be able to multitask, have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Previous experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
Information Technology Help Desk/Computer Technician
Information Technology Department
The RFGH IT Department has a full time/40 hour per week IT Help Desk/Computer Technician position. This position is for afternoon/evening hours, (12-830 PM, 1-930 PM, 2-1030 PM or 3-11:30 PM) M-F. Exact hours will be agreed upon when an job offer is made. Responsibilities include daily support of all end user technology, working with problem tickets and when needed, escalation to the appropriate internal and/or external parties. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills and be experienced in supporting end users in person, by email, remotely and by phone. Must be able to work independently as after 430PM you will typically be the only IT member on site. Staff member will be fully trained/educated before being expected to work alone. Must have knowledge of basic networking and be able to provides assistance for employees with software and hardware (printers, scanners, PCs, mobile devices) issues. Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office is required. Willingness to learn is vital. Teamwork is critical as well as willingness to assist with projects outside of assigned responsibilities. This position includes participation in the on-call rotation. There will be an opportunity to obtain IT training and certifications. This position includes tuition reimbursement/loan forgiveness and competitive pay. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required with all previous education, certifications and experience taken into account. Must be willing to work occasional overtime as required to meet the needs of the department.
Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
The Laboratory has an immediate opening for 36 hr/wk (3-12’s) night shift Medical Technologist. AS/BS degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. MLT/MT ASCP or equivalent and two years clinical experience preferred. This is a generalist position covering all departments including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and phlebotomy. Provides night shift coverage minimum of once per week as well as vacations and other 3rd shift vacancies. This position also includes rotating weekends and holidays.
Rural Community Opioid Response Program Coordinator

This is a full time (40hrs) 1-year time-limited position, with full benefits. The Program Coordinator will be 100% funded to direct the day to day activities of the HRSA-funded Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP)-Planning grant. The Program Coordinator will facilitate the collection, compilation, and reporting of input from Consortium Members to create a comprehensive plan to improve prevention and treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. The Program Coordinator will demonstrate skill in recruiting and convening program partners, collecting data, conducting gap analysis, writing reports, creating grant-required products, creating marketing materials, and obtaining locations for meetings and forums. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for communicating with Consortium Members, Program Partners and people in the service area. The Program Coordinator will educate these groups on evidence based practices, recovery-informed language, bias and stigma. The Program Coordinator will monitor expenses to stay within the RCORP-Planning budget. The Program Coordinator will assist the Director in monitoring the activities and outputs of a contracted RCORP-Planning Facilitator to assure quality and to ensure the contractor achieves the contracted deliverables. Knowledge of opioid/substance use disorder prevention and treatment is preferred but not required. Preferred education: A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and 7 years’ experience or a Master’s degree and 5 years’ experience in public health or public administration.

Certified Nursing Assistant
Medical Surgical Department
The RFGH Medical Surgical Department has one per diem CNA position available to work all shifts. Certification from an approved Nurses Aid Program, State of Maine CNA registry and BLS are required. The successful applicant must be qualified by education, background, and experience for the responsibility of the position. Clinical experience in hospital is preferred.
Special Care Unit
The RFGH Special Care Unit is looking for a dynamic candidate for a full time RN position. The position is a 36 hour 7am-7pm position including every other weekend and rotating holidays. All candidates must have ACLS with the ability to recognize, interpret and treat all cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias. PALS, IV Certification and Moderate Sedation are required within six months of hire. We are seeking a vibrant forward thinking RN with strong critical thinking and excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while providing patient centered care is a must.
The RFGH Education Department is seeking a part time RN to work in collaboration with our Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) for our Diabetes Self-Management Treatment program. This position is 16 hours/week with a rotating schedule. Responsibilities include conducting one on one visits with patients with diabetes to provide education and support around glucose monitoring and insulin therapy, teaching in group/class setting for the community, and working with our current CDE on performance improvement projects. Qualified candidates must hold a current RN license, be self-motivated, be able to work independently, have experience in diabetes education or other related health education, have a passion for helping others succeed in managing their disease, and be able to facilitate a group or class. Certified Diabetes Educator Certification preferred.
The RFGH Emergency Department has one full time and one per diem position available. The full time position is a 36-hour (Charge capable) position available on the 6p-6a shift. Working every other weekend, nights and rotating holidays. 2 years ED experience and previous charge/leadership experience is preferred. Must have current ACLS, PALS and IV certification. ENPC, TNCC, and CEN is preferred. Must have excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking and customer service skills with innovative ideas.
