CENTER
• Our facility has new and upgraded
fetal heart monitors to ensure your baby's
safety before delivery.
• We have recently received a state-of-the-art
newborn hearing screener to test all babies'
hearing prior to being discharged.
• Our birthing rooms offer pull out dad's
chair to allow the family to remain together
after delivery.
• The whirlpool tub, birthing ball, rice
socks and (in every room) compact disc/cassette
players are some of the comfort measures you
will receive. |

Our family oriented department provides maternity
and newborn care to families. The Birthing Center
provides for prenatal Great Expectations visits
with a tour, a chance to MEET SOME OF OUR STAFF and to
learn more about pregnancy, pre-term labor and
comfort measures for labor as well as breastfeeding
support. Our nurses teach childbirth preparation
classes and we have a car seat program for those
eligible.
The Birthing Center has 4 private labor and delivery
rooms/post partum recovery rooms which means you
can be admitted and deliver your baby and recover
in the same comfortable and spacious room with
your baby and support persons. We also have one
semiprivate room and one exam room. Our unit boasts
a whirlpool tub, rice socks and birthing ball
— all to ease the discomforts of labor. We
are staffed by trained and certified obstetrician/gynecologists,
family practice physicians, pediatricians and
nurses to take care of you and your baby.
The Birthing Center has been designed so that
you can have your baby in a comfortable home-like
setting while knowing that you and your baby will
receive the best medical and nursing care. After
delivery and once you have the chance to rest,
we will serve you and your support person a quiet
dinner for two, complete with sparkling cider.
We have diaper bags with goodies and totes with
books for all the new mothers to take home. We
are a small unit dedicated to providing the personal
care and attentiveness that families need at this
special time in their lives.
